Brill Online Primary Sources

  • Brill Online Primary Source consists of thematic collections of unique materials such as rare books and documents from around the world.

Chinese Newspapers Collection (1832-1953), ProQuest Historical Newspapers

  • This historical newspaper provides insight into Chinese political and social life during the turbulent 120 year period from 1832 to 1953 with 12 English-language Chinese historical newspapers. Included are critical perspectives on the ending of more than 2,000 years of imperial rule in China, the Taiping Rebellion, the Opium Wars with Great Britain, the Boxer Rebellion and the events leading up to the 1911 Xinhai Revolution, and the subsequent founding of the Republic of China. History of Afghanistan Online

Security Reference Service (FII online)

ESI – Essential Science Indicators

  • Provides access to a compilation of essential science performance statistics and science trend data. The chief indicators of output, or productivity, are journal article publication counts. Data in Essential Science Indicators are limited to Thomson Scientific-indexed journal articles only.

Contemporary Literary Criticism

  • Collection of more than 11,000 critical essays on contemporary authors. Each CLC–Select entry contains a biographical/critical introduction, a list of principal works, critical essays, and sources for further study. Updated monthly, Contemporary Literary Criticism–Select allows users to search by author name, title of work, nationality, subject/genre, ethnicity, critic name, and more.

Vestnik Evropy

  • One of the first literary and political journals in Russia. Together with literature and arts the journal enlightened its readers on problems of internal and foreign policy of Russia as well as history and political life of foreign countries. Nikolai Karamzin, the famous writer and historian, was its editor. The journal ceased publishing in 1830
